Guidelines for Applying the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Sponsorship for Participation in the 37th Annual Conference of the Asian Open Universities (AAOU)
The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) has kindly agreed with the AAOU Secretariat for the 37th Annual Conference of AAOU to provide sponsorship support to young delegates from open and distance learning (ODL) institutions in developing Asian Commonwealth nations for attending the Conference The following conditions apply for granting the funds:
- The grant will be given to 10 delegates who register for the whole conference (15-17 October, 2024).
- Delegates should be citizens of Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
- Preference will be given to young or mid-career practitioners (rather than policymakers) of distance education who have not had the opportunity to attend the conference in the past (if possible).
- The AAOU Secretariat will seek to ensure greater participation of women, as required by the sponsorship.
- The delegates must use the funds to defray the conference registration fee and local accommodation expenses but not travel.
- Only delegates whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation at the conference will be eligible.
Application Procedure
Please download and complete the Application Form. A signed and completed application form should be submitted to the AAOU conference host through email aaou2024@aiou.edu.pk with Subject: AAOU COL fellowship at the very least by 30 August 2024 (Islamabad, Pakistan time).
